Prenatal Appointments

My role is to help you have a satisfying birth as YOU define it. The more we explore this in advance, the better I will be able to fulfill this role.

Prenatal appointments are meetings with you and your partner/support person before baby arrives. Each client is unique and prenatals will look slightly different for everyone

according to their individual needs and which package you choose. We will get to know one another and discuss many things including, but not limited to:

  • Your preferences for your birth

  • The scope of service for a doula

  • How we can best work with your care provider and each other

  • Any fears and or questions you may have about pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, parenting etc.

  • Physiology of birth

  • Relaxation/Breathing

  • Breastfeeding (if applicable)

  • Postpartum planning (if applicable)

  • Sibling readiness (if applicable)

  • Creating a list of your birth wishes (aka birth plan)

  • Pain management

  • Labor and birth positions

  • Spinning babies exercises

  • Any thing you feel the need to discuss or explore to help you have a wonderful birth experience.

Labor & Delivery Support

I ask that you contact me at the onset of labor and we will evaluate what is going on.

  • We will decide when it is best for me to come and meet you at home, or at the hospital.

  • I provide continuous support for you and your partner/support person during labor and delivery.

  • In the case of an unexpected Cesarean birth, I will support you however the hospital allows (ie in the operating room and/or afterward in your room)

  • In the case of a scheduled Cesarean birth, we can replace labor hours with postpartum care hours (see contract).

  • After the baby is born I will remain with you until breastfeeding is established and/or you are comfortable with me leaving, usually this is 1 to 2 hours.

TENS Units Rental
